Vol. 9: Lysia and Ramona

It's been a while since I shared a Character Backstories post! Today's victims are Lysia Solas from The City of Light and Romona Marx from Neon Vape: A Vaporwave Odyssey.


Lysia Solas (The City of Light)

Lysia Solas is the only daughter of Oydin Solas, a lawmaker in the Kingdom of Valgus. As such, she's expected to continue on the family tradition. Every Solas has been a Lawmaker, and every Solas will continue to carry that title. 

Being a Lawmaker makes for an interesting, stable, and respectable career. Lysia understands her duty to uphold her family's long-held tradition. Nevertheless, there was a brief period of time, in her younger years, when she rebelled against the idea, when it all became too unbearable for her. 

It was at that time that Lysia took her affinity test... And since then, she has been one of the most accomplished warriors of her time. The mysterious energy which powers Valgus - the City of Light - is one that is known only to its people, but not all of them can wield it. Some who attempt to end up with terrible injuries - or, worse: dead. 

Her accomplishments have turned her into a role model for Noctora, the young and impressionable princess of Valgus, and have even awarded her the interest of their queen. 

Her childhood friends, Lucius and Listrik, have been by her side throughout her entire life. Lysia counts the mischievous Lucius as a brother. Listrik, on the other hand... There's something more between the two of them, and doomed as it may be, Lysia can't turn away from it.


Ramona Marx (Neon Vape: A Vaporwave Odyssey)

Ramona Marx is the protagonist of Neon Vape: A Vaporwave Odyssey. She's the adopted daughter of a wealthy landowner whose farm she grew up on. Unfortunately, in her late teens, her adoptive father passed away, and as per the laws of inheritance, the farm was divided amongst his eligible next of kin. She was not legally counted among them, and the other members were all too happy to sell the farm and move on with their money.

Without a place to live, Ramona ventured into the big city, honed her artistic skills, and began selling her art and services to various customers and companies. It was here that she made the work connections which would eventually get her hired by VeAre to help them design and create their groundbreaking virtual reality experience: Neon Vape. 

Unbeknownst to Ramona, this marks the beginning of a terrible, harrowing experience for her, as she becomes trapped in the game when a traitorous saboteur messes with the source code the night before the launch of the product.

A little note: You might be thinking, what's up with it being Volume 9? The last one you put out was Volume 11! ...No? You didn't notice? Well, then. Nothing to see here, keep going 😜 In all seriousness, this post was supposed to go out back in 2021, believe it or not, but for some reason it remained a draft? I decided to remedy the issue, but alas, I couldn't fix it so that the date that it posted on was the original date it was supposed to post on, so.... Enjoy! ^^
