Welcome back

For those who have followed and supported my creative work - writeblr mutuals, fellow writers, and readers - and who still remain on this platform: thank you for waiting through my long, often unpredictable silences.

A lot has changed since I was last "here." I have changed. It seems every day I learn something new about myself that I didn't know before, and this era of self-discovery has led me to the realization that I want to change things up in this blog. If you look back, past the long buffer of inspiring and artistic reblogs, you’ll find this fragmented, all-over-the-place person that I was (and, in many ways, still am; it's a work in progress). But I've finally come to a decision regarding the future of this blog, and while this space is evolving, I want to reassure you: the core of the blog remains.

I will always be a storyteller. I will always be intrigued by the stories we discover and the experiences we share. Even when I am the busiest I have ever been, I gravitate back towards these creative endeavours. However, a new passion has emerged alongside my creative work. As some of you may have sensed with the release of my horror storytelling course and a variety of writing resources before that, I have, over the years, become more deeply immersed in the world of education than ever before.

And I want to share that passion on this blog, too - expanding what it encompasses and exploring the intersections of storytelling and learning (of which there are many). I also want to explore more teaching-focused ideas and document my journey as an educator. Everything from daily challenges and resource management, to curriculum development and the nuances of a multilingual classroom.

This post - as well as a few of the posts I recently shared because I was too impatient to wait - serves as the barrier between the old and the new. From here on out, it's a fresh start.

My updates will be slow and purposeful. I'm still shaking off the fog of a heavy burnout, but at the same time, I want to take the time to think through what I post (to the best of my ability anyway). Every post will be a part of a segment - a part of the whole that you can either follow or ignore using the tags that I will share with you. To learn more about what these segments will be, and what you can expect to find in them, keep an eye out for the next post.

And please, be patient with me as I work to nail down the kind of aesthetic that I want to recreate on this blog. It has been a while, and my skills need a refresher. For now, I'm mainly customizing templates to keep things simple, and I certainly don't think I'll be changing my blog theme. I hope that you'll let me know your thoughts about the new look and feel of this place.
