Murder in Heliopolis: 2024's Main WIP

The votes are in! About 66% of the respondents chose Murder in Heliopolis for the project I should choose to focus on first this year (and, given the fact that I want to do many other things in the coming year, this will probably be the only novel I work on in 2024). Of course, I'm not just working on it because a bunch of people told me I should!

The truth is, the whole reason I made the poll was because I was starting to get a little burned out when it came to Marie/Elise, and I found myself procrastinating on it just about any chance I got. Could I have completed and published it by now? Yes. Have I? Obviously not. Why? I just... don't want to work on it.

So, this is really more of a reinforcement of something I already had going on in my mind: I need to switch gears, and the next best option is Murder in Heliopolis, because A) I feel like it, and B) it's one of the few standalone novels that is mostly completed, with only a couple rounds of editing required.

I think, to start things off, I'll ask for some beta readers to let me know what they think. I'd like to get an idea of the pros and cons of the story as it currently stands. Since Murder in Heliopolis is already posted on Royal Road, that'll be a lot easier to do, I think. I can add the questions to the end of each chapter in an author's note.

So, yeah! Exciting stuff! I won't get around to Murder in Heliopolis until after January passes, I think, but in the meantime I'll put out a call for beta readers and see what comes up by February.
