Housekeeping: Short Stories, Scrittorio, Scareuary, and Payhip

Some updates for what you might expect to see moving forward:
  • Short stories are going to start being linked in the Short Stories page of this blog; they will be free to read unless they've been published in a lit mag that you need to buy - but not to worry! So far there's only one instance of that.

  • I'm aware that I have a very large number of horror stories up for readers, but not a lot of fantasy, sci-fi, or other genres. I'll try to work on that!

  • Though the short stories listed in the Short Stories page will remain free to read and download, I plan to make bundles of short stories and place them on my Payhip for a nominal price. These bundles may include a new short story not included in the Short Stories page as an additional goodie for those who wish to support me by buying them!

  • Scrittorio Magazine Winter 2023 features will be going out every week starting this week. There are twelve in total, meaning 12 weeks of features. I won't be opening submissions, planning the next issue, or reaching out to authors to interview until those 12 weeks are finished. In other words, there won't be any news for Scrittorio's upcoming issue until April 2024.

  • Scareuary's debut was this year. I'm very excited to keep this writing challenge going every year; however, I'll need to do a little more advertising for it for the next year. I think my timing was a pick crunched this year, what with Scrittorio coming out at the end of December and Scareuary starting the next day. Next time, this won't be the case - I'll be moving Scrittorio's release date back, possibly to November, and I'll make sure to advertise Scareuary accordingly in the months leading up to it. Hopefully, this will result in more participants in the coming years!

  • Worksheets and writing resources have been something I've wanted to provide for a long time now. The latest issue of Scrittorio gave me an opportunity to do just that, but I'd like to provide these kinds of resources individually. They're more convenient that way. Moving forward, you can expect to see a range of different worksheets and writing resources up on my Payhip, for nominal prices.

  • I'm launching a short Artspo series here on the blog, where I feature artists whose art has inspired my own works and creative journey, and how. The first of this series is set to be posted on Jan 15. This will be a short series, with about 3-5 posts/artist spotlights, for now.
More updates to come shortly.
