The Pirates of Sissa

The Pirates of Sissa, Book 2 in The Qarran Tales

The Pirates of Sissa is the second book in my high fantasy series. The first book, which I've already introduced, is The Fall of the Black Masks. You can learn more about it here.

The Pirates of Sissa follows two main characters, Vadra and Sahra, who exist on opposite sides of a decades-long ethnic conflict. When fate brings them together, and they are forced to cooperate in order to usher in an era of peace among their two peoples, they have to learn to put aside their prejudices and animosity for the greater good. But that's easier said than done.

A lot of the worldbuilding in this book is influenced by imperialism and colonialism, both historical and current, and it deals with a great many subjects that come under these broad umbrella terms. These are subjects I feel very strongly about - it's hard not to, when you're a human being, but also because I come from a country that still feels the pain of imperialism & colonialism.

To learn more about this book, check out this podcast episode or check it out on my website along with a lot of fun special content! I'll also be uploading more book-related content on this blog moving forward, so I'll be very active here.
