Journey Through Qarra: A Walk Through The Black Desert

Image
The first episode in the Journey Through Qarra podcast segment is up!  A Walk Through The Black Desert takes you on a trip through the dark sands of the treacherous Black Desert, and you encounter the only two creatures to still call the desert their home. The Black Desert is one of the main settings in The Pirates of Sissa , and plays an important role in the way large-scale events unfold in Qarra due to the limitations it creates. Check it out here on my blog , or go to any of these 9 podcast apps to find your preferred one! I'm always interested in hearing your thoughts, suggestions, questions, or requests, so don't be shy to leave me a comment below. Happy listening!

Journey Through Qarra

Since starting a podcast, I've been wondering how to make content that is podcast-exclusive. In other words, on every platform that I am on, I like to create content exclusive to that platform, and while that is sometimes a lot to do (and also sometimes impossible), it's still very fun to think of all the different things I can make for my readers.  So, here's my first podcast-exclusive content: Journey Through Qarra is a segment of episodes on my podcast that take listeners on a trip through all of the settings and locations of Qarra, the continent on which my The Qarran Tales series is set. If this sounds like something you're interested in, make sure to subscribe to or follow my podcast in any of these 9 podcast apps , and s...

The Pirates of Sissa

The Pirates of Sissa , Book 2 in The Qarran Tales The Pirates of Sissa is the second book in my high fantasy series. The first book, which I've already introduced, is The Fall of the Black Masks . You can learn more about it here . The Pirates of Sissa follows two main characters, Vadra and Sahra, who exist on opposite sides of a decades-long ethnic conflict. When fate brings them together, and they are forced to cooperate in order to usher in an era of peace among their two peoples, they have to learn to put aside their prejudices and animosity for the greater good. But that's easier said than done. A lot of the worldbuilding in this book is influenced by imperialism and colonialism, both historical and current, and it deals with a great many subjects that come under these broad umbrella terms. These are subjects I feel very strongly about - it's hard not to, when you're a human being, but also because I come from a country that still feels the pain of imperialism ...
